I have learned many helpful revision strategies in my English 110 class. Before this class I didn’t use much recursive writing processes but instead just focused on writing about the main topic and writing down my ideas. My favorite and most helpful revision strategy that I learned is the color coding strategy. Color coding your paper allows you to look at your paper in a completely different way. Doing this allows you to see all your transitions, key terms, pointing terms, and repetition. Having each sentence or term highlighted and visible makes it very easier to go back to your paper and fix it up. You can go back and change the words you used to much and add more key terms and pointing terms. I plan on using this revision strategy on other papers I have to write after this english class and do it in my other classes. It is also very helpful to peer review your paper and have your friends or classmates read your paper. It is great to get helpful feedback from others and hear their ideas on how to make your paper stronger. If you don’t have a friend or classmate to read your paper you could always ask your teacher or a family member to review it.
